BENEFITS

Although the Carolinas Medcial Center-Union Family Practice Residency Program is separate from the residency program at Carolinas Medical Center (CMC), the residents in the CMC-Union program are employees of CMC and have the same benefits as residents of all CMC-sponsored residency programs.

Carolinas HealthCare System offers excellent benefits to residents, including medical liability, family health, life and disability insurance, meals when on-call, laundry service and parking. Residents receive funding to attend one full-week conference per year. Two weeks of paid vacation are permitted in the first and second years, and three weeks in the third year. In addition to vacation, all residents receive five days off around the Christmas or New Year's holiday periods each year.
